Owner & Pole Instructor
I first started pole in 2021 as a way to incorporate a different kind of workout into my fitness journey. After a few classes, I was hooked became an instructor and manager of the studio. In May of 2025 I purchased the studio.
In addition to managing the business side of things, I am also an instructor. Bringing my passion for fitness to the studio and helping my clients achieve their fitness goals in my greatest gift. I believe that creating a positive and supportive environment is essential for my clients and staff to thrive. I’m proud of what we have achieved as a fitness studio. It has been a challenging, but rewarding journey, and I look forward to continuing to grow The Pole Barn Studio in the years to come.

Lyra Instructor
Lucy started her pole journey in January 2021, right in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, simply looking for something new to try—and was instantly hooked after her very first class. What began as a way to shake off the cabin fever quickly grew into a life-changing passion. Today, Lucy teaches both pole and lyra, and brings her signature mix of strength, creativity, and body-positive encouragement to every class.
When she’s not flipping upside down, you can find Lucy at home in Stillwater with her husband Ben, their beagle Walter, and an ever-growing list of hobbies (including being a full-blown Dungeon Master for a seriously epic D&D campaign). Whether she’s on the pole or plotting magical misadventures, Lucy is all about helping others feel strong, supported, and a little bit badass.

She is passionate about aerial because it challenges her mind, body, and spirit in all of the best ways. Being an aerialist has given Sydney the greatest outlet for growth, inspiration, and connection. Her classes are all about having fun, gaining new skills, and fostering new relationships!

May-Ling took her first silks class in 2019 and promptly decided that hanging out in the air was the best place to be. Coming from a dance and gymnastics background, she delighted in the freedom being in the air gave her to explore new shapes and movements. In 2022 she began teaching silks and brings a blend of tough love and enthusiasm that pushes her students to challenge themselves and try things they didn’t know were possible.

Jesse has been pole dancing since 2017 and has been teaching pole classes since 2019. Although she would be the first to tell you she hates exercise, she fell in love with the strength and beauty of the sport right away and has never looked back. Her favorite part about aerial arts is that there is always more to learn and to discover, from perfecting new tricks to smoothing out a transition, to expressing emotions through movement and challenging yourself to be better every day. She loves to share what she learns with her students, and strives to keep classes safe, fun, and educational. Come play with her!

Stephanie began her aerial journey in the fall of 2011, following her time with the St. Paul Bouncing Team. As that chapter came to a close, she searched for a new way to stay connected to the air—and after just one aerial class, she was completely hooked. What began as a physical passion soon evolved into something much deeper.
In 2018, Stephanie began taking classes at The Pole Barn and immediately knew she had found her aerial home. Surrounded by a supportive and inspiring community of instructors, her strength and confidence grew, and her connection to the art form deepened.
With a compassionate and grounded approach, Stephanie hopes to create a welcoming space where students of all levels can explore, express, and reconnect with themselves through movement. She believes that no matter what life throws your way, if you can find time in the air, you can cope with anything

Emily missed dancing and decided to take a chance at The Pole Barn choreo class. Emily started silks in 2018. Emily found a second home at The Pole Barn taking more and more classes. Silks make her feel pretty and strong. She has been taking silk classes for the strength and toning, joking she’s too old to perform. It is a solid workout, and exciting finding new muscles!
You will probably hear about her Pyrenees Mix dog, Kota in class. She likes to go on adventures with Emily to wineries and Downtown Stillwater for Leo’s pup cups.
